Classic Range Wines

The Wines of the Classic Range are made since 1989, the year that Bodegas Vicente Malumbres started bottling their Wines. They are the Wines of the classic categories: Blanco, Rosado, Tinto Joven (with no ageing in barrel), Crianza, Reserva and also Chardonnay Barrel Fermented. All of these Wines are at least 80% local varieties ( Garnacha, Graciano, Tempranillo,Vidao) and therefore a maximum 20% foreign varieties. The 20% foreign varieties is a complement enrichening the Wines but not dominating the Wines for which the character is from the local grapes. Last classic Wine is Malumbres Chardonnay Barrel Fermented which is our unique Wine made from a foreign variety.

Malumbres Blanco:

In Bodegas Vicente Malumbres only White Wines are more than 20% foreign varieties: they are 100% Chardonnay. The reason to use Chardonnay is its potential which permits obtaining richer Wines than by using the local grape. Malumbres Blanco is intense and complex in aromas, dense on the palate, with a good structure, fresh and persistent.

Malumbres Chardonnay Barrel Fermented:

The first Chardonnay Barrel Fermented of Bodegas Vicente Malumbres was made in 1996. Nine years later, this is a style of Wine with a much smaller demand and our production has been reduced to very small quantities. Concept:  Wine which firstly shows aromas from the variety and nuances of fruits and secondly shows vanilla and other notes from the oak. On the palate it is big and tasty with a nice touch of oak which adds complexity. Fermentation in tanks of 3,150 liters from oak, French and American.

Malumbres Rosado:

Quality of Rosado is determined  by the quality of the grapes. For it, it is necessary picking the grapes on the ideal dates and making an strict selection of grapes. Concept: attractive colour, intensity and richness of aromas, freshness and fruit. Best drinking during the next year to the vintage.

Malumbres Tinto Joven:

The quality of the Tinto Joven is an important question for Bodegas Vicente Malumbres. It is our objective that all our Wines are of  the maximum quality but not only the most complex Wines. On the other hand our sales of Tinto Joven are about 50% of the total sales (in number of bottles). Therefore, it is clear that we put an eye on all details in order to obtain the maximum quality for our Tinto Joven. Concept: our objective is that the Wine is in the shops a few months after vintage, about April following to the vintage, for which it will be a Wine easy drinking  and pleasant in a short period of time but the second condition is it will be  optimal for drinking at least during the two following years to its vintage. Style: intense and deeply fruity aromas, fresh, fruit on the palate, good structure and balance.

Malumbres Crianza:

It is one of the best sellers in Bodegas Vicente Malumbres. Garnacha and Tempranillo are the base of this Wine, changing the proportion of each of the two varieties from year to year and being all years the blend of the two grapes at least 80%. We complement with a maximum 20% of foreign varieties. Malumbres Crianza is a complex Wine with a good assembly and a good balance of fruit and oak. Malumbres Crianza is relased after one year in barrel and no less than one year in the bottle and some vintages can remain in the Bodega about 2 years after bottling before being released. The objective is that Wines reach the Consumer when they have reached their peak. It would be nonsense to make all efforts to obtain the highest quality and afterwards releasing early or on the other hand selling too late.

Malumbres Reserva:

Same premises of work as with the Crianza.  Malumbres Reserva is aged in barrel 12-18 months and after bottling remains in the Bodega at least 24 months. A more powerful and intense Wine than the Crianza but also complex and with a good assembly and balance of fruit and oak.
